Give your group a shared finish line.

Estimate the steps and distance your friends or coworkers could cover together. Start with your group size, a daily step target, and the length of your challenge.

Plan your challenge

Use a target that fits your participants. Explore a personal step goal.

Adjust the distance assumption

73.15 cm is a planning assumption, approximately 2,200 steps per mile. Replace it with your group’s estimated average if known. One step is one footfall; a full stride is two steps.

How the estimate works

Group steps = participants × daily steps per participant × challenge days. Distance in kilometres = group steps × average step length in centimetres ÷ 100,000. Miles = kilometres ÷ 1.609344. Only displayed distances are rounded.

Participants, daily steps and days must be whole numbers. Supported limits are 1–10,000 participants, 1–120,000 daily steps, 1–365 days, and a step length of 10–150 cm. These are input limits, not activity recommendations. Distance is approximate because people have different step lengths. This planner uses the same daily target for everyone; actual challenges can include individual goals.
